    Experienced Staff Caring for Seniors

Specially trained physicians from Baylor Geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine provide compassionate care and work with patients to help them reach their highest functional ability. In addition to specializing in geriatrics, doctors also may be board certified in hospice and palliative care medicine or geriatric medicine, or have clinical interests in end-of-life issues, dementia, delirium, preventive health, osteoporosis or wound care. Physicians work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, social workers, and other health care professionals. This collaborative approach helps meet the medical needs of a growing senior community.

Our staff members spend time with patients on a one-on-one basis to develop a customized plan of care. An initial geriatric assessment is especially valuable for those whose physical, functional or emotional status has become challenged. Recommendations for ongoing care are provided based on this assessment, which is available on a consultation basis or as a first step in ongoing primary care.
